With four rounds of the Vice Chancellor's Awards under our belt 31 Vice Chancellor's Awards have been made, 21 to individuals and 10 to teams, representing a total of 60 members of staff. 112 nominations have been received, representing a total of 300 colleagues.

The Awards are intended to apply to all who work here and we positively encourage nominations from individuals and teams whose work might not be as visible as others', but whose contribution is none the less essential to the success of our community.

All nominations demonstrate the wealth of dedication to our Corporate Objectives, Values and Customer Service to both students and colleagues by our staff. However, winning an Award celebrates where dedication is demonstrated to a degree over and above expectations.

Over the past 4 years, winners have included colleagues from many different roles in our community and whose activities have addressed different aspects of our Corporate Objectives. Winners include a student financial support team who produced a cookbook of cheap recipes for our students; a lecturer who coached students to success in an international competition; researchers whose work is making a real difference to less fortunate members of our local community; a marketing team who pulled out all the stops to buck a trend in falling student applications; student money advisors who overcame significant difficulties, beyond their control, to maintain their service to students; a teaching team which developed an online freshers' week and many more.
