Inclusion & Diversity will be of interest to those who teach or otherwise support learning. It provides an introduction to key legislation that places duties upon our University to make reasonable adjustments to be inclusive when supporting student learning.
Course Description
This professional development course is designed to help you to be familiar with and understand the implications of this legislation and Anglia Ruskin policy for your practice. You will relate issues of inclusion to your practice throughout the course. This will include a very small scale examination of your practice in an area that is of interest to you. The purpose of this examination of practice is to help you enhance your practice.
Inclusion and Diversity is an online course with an introductory and mid-point face-to-face workshop. The course is delivered over a ten week period. Potential course participants include:
- Lecturers
- Tutors
- Academics
- Librarians
- Student counsellors
- Web-developers
- Learning technologists
This course is recognised by the Staff Educational Development Association (SEDA) and a reflective element is a requirement for SEDA certification. Therefore, if participants wish to achieve SEDA certification, in the final weeks they will write up a reflection on the course and its relevance to their learning and teaching context.
