Action Research into Professional Practice consists of a series of workshops to support colleagues in undertaking research into their learning and teaching practice. It has been designed specifically to address the needs of Learning and Teaching Project Fund Holders, but would also be of interest and value to anyone else who would like to undertake pedagogic action research.
Course Description
The course aims to strike a balance between exploring action research methodology and developing practice through a range of participatory sessions. Sessions will be scheduled to support participants at each stage of the action research cycle. The sessions are designed to be as responsive as possible to the needs, interests and concerns of participants.
We have achieved SEDA recognition for this course, and in order to receive a SEDA certificate participants will need to complete an additional reflective element and further evidence of learning through the production of a (5000 word equivalent) portfolio evidencing your research process.
The portfolio will include
- A project plan
- A literature review
- Methodology and methods
- Findings
- Conclusion/discussion
- A reflection on the research process
